This was the 'Twist' version of My Bonnie (version with English intro) as annotated on the label. My copy includes the picture sleeve issued when it was first released. The 'Rock' version (with German intro) was issued a month and a half earlier on October 23, 1961. The word Beatles was judged to sound too similar to the German Pidels (pronounced peedles), the plural of a slang term for penis, hence the single was credited to Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers. It was January 5, 1962 when the first UK issuance of the single was released which also included the English intro. |
